September 26, 1938 ~ April 22, 2024 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Frieda Harbaugh Obituary

     Frieda June Deahl Harbaugh, 85, a resident of Wendell, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 22, 2024.

     She was born to Russell Allen Deahl and Buelah Mae Helmick on September 26, 1938 in Jerome.

     Frieda married her high school sweetheart – Myron Edward “Ed” Harbaugh on January 27, 1954.  She earned her GED in 1979.  “Ed” and Frieda ran Hub City Auto Parts for 21 years together and after an unexpected death of Ed, Frieda ran the store for yet another 13 years before selling in 2010. 

     Frieda had many likes, such as A&W Root Beer, bird feeders, hummingbirds, bean and bacon soup, split pea and ham soup, and a good baked potato, and fish and chips.  Her dogs – Kitty, Butch, Miley and Panda were her sidekicks.

     Frieda was an avid sewist and enjoyed collecting spoons on her and Ed’s adventures.  She always put others needs in front of hers.

     She will truly be missed by all that touched her heart.

     Frieda is survived by: four sons – Anthony Ray of Jerome, Myron Edward of Buhl, Terry Joe of Jerome and Chris Andrew of Rupert; two daughters – Teresa Marie of Nampa and Cindy Ann of Wendell; one brother – James Andrew Deahl of Reno, Nevada; two sisters – Betty Ann Ballek of Fairbanks, Alaska and Sandra Faye Winson of Twin Falls; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her late husband – Ed; one brother – Victor; three grandchildren – Shane, Tosha and Isaac; and one great great granddaughter – Jenevieve Joy.

     A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Wendell Senior Center in Wendell.  A viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until service time.

     Burial will be in the Wendell Cemetery in Wendell.

     A reception will be held following the service at the Wendell Senior Center where Frieda’s favorites of an A&W Root Beer float and a good baked potato will be served.
