Jim Sage Obituary

Jim Sage, 59, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise.

Jim D. Sage Born August 19, 1964 to Bobby Jo and Betty Sage. Jim was born in Bakersfield California, and moved to the Shoshone/Dietrich area when he was a young boy where he lived with his 4 sisters and 1 brother. Jim graduated from Dietrich High School, and worked on the family dairy, as well as for the railroad when he was young.

Jim met the love of his life, his soul mate in 1992, Joyce Jacobson Sage. The two were married July 2, 1994, and started their story. Jim worshiped Joyce, he always said she “saved” him, in reality they completed each other. Jim’s love for Joyce was as pure as the fresh falling snow. Their love story will be an envy for all married couples.

As a father, the most important thing to Jim was his family. He always said that his main priority was to make sure his family was taken care of with a roof over their head and food in their belly. His family was and will always be his main priority. The pride that Jim had when he spoke of Dakota, Shaneese, and Aaliyah would make everyone take notice and feel that pride within them. Jim was always there for his children, providing love, support and guidance every step of the way. He was their rock, their protector, and their biggest cheerleader. His children knew they could always count on him, no matter what.

As a friend, Jim was always there to lend a listening ear, offer a shoulder to cry on, or share a laugh with. He was the type of person who would drop everything to help a friend in need and his loyal and caring nature made him a true asset in anyone’s life.

As a coworker, Jim was a team player always willing to pitch in and help out wherever needed. His positive attitude and strong work ethic made him a huge asset to the team, and his presence in the field will be greatly missed.

Jim was the type of person that would give his shirt off his own back if someone needed it. He had a heart of gold and kindness that most people didn’t get the chance to see. Jim loved to do anything outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, even working. He loved to teach his kids and grandkids how to fish and hunt. Some of his most enjoyable times in the last few years were sitting around a campfire, passing a bottle, and listening to memories of loved ones that have left. Jim loved with all his heart, he worked hard and took pride in the work he did.

Today we celebrate Jim, a man who brought joy and love to all who knew him. He was kind, loving, and supportive. REST IN PEACE Jim, You are the LEGEND!
