John Frank Borda, 60, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding.
John was born on June 21, 1959 in Boise, Idaho, to his parents – Arnaud and Inez Borda. He grew up in Gooding, Idaho and graduated from Gooding High School.
John worked most of his life for the family business – Borda Trucking. He also ventured as a west coast truck driver. Primarily focusing on hauling hay and cows for many years, he was able to work alongside his best friend – Kurtis Borda.
He grew up in a strong Basque family participating in Basque events. While growing up he traveled with his family to the Basque Country to experience life and be with family there. He loved the outdoors. In his younger years he loved to be out on the boat waterskiing. He also liked to fish and take his Razor up to the mountains.
John will be remembered as a charismatic, goofy, stubborn Basquo. Although he may not have always shown it, he had a huge heart and deeply cared for his family and friends.
He is survived by: his brother – Jim Borda; his niece – Jenniece Borda; and cousin – Amy (Ron) Allred.
He was preceded in death by: his parents – Arnaud and Inez (Lequerica) Borda; uncle – Bert Borda; and nephew – Kurtis Borda.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
A celebration of life will continue with a gathering at the Sidetrack in Gooding. Cremation arrangements will follow with a burial of his urn at the Shoshone Cemetery next to his parents in the spring. An announcement will be made at that time.
