Margaret Ann (Beem) Behrens

     Margaret Ann Behrens, 86 of Wendell, Idaho died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Stonebridge Assisted Living Center in Wendell. 

     Margaret Ann was born on October 15, 1931 in Filer, Idaho, the daughter of Cora Levica and Grover Cleveland Beem. Margaret Ann grew up in the city of Filer and later her family moved to a farm west of town.  She graduated from Filer High School and attended Idaho State University studying music education.  She loved classical music and played the violin and piano so well that she studied music in Chicago in the summer of 1949. Margaret Ann met Elwyn Behrens while she was at ISU and they were married on June 14, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa.

     Margaret Ann and Elwyn moved several times while Elwyn was fulfilling his commitment to the Air Force, before settling in Fairfield, Idaho.  Margaret Ann moved, with her family, to Wendell in 1962 where she lived in the same house with her husband Elwyn “Yogi” Behrens until the spring of 2018 when she moved to Stonebridge Assisted Living. 

     Margaret Ann loved camping and spending time with her family at Redfish Lake in Stanley.  Margaret Ann and Yogi spent more than 60 summer vacations with her children and grandchildren enjoying the outdoors.  When her family was back at work and school, Margaret Ann and Yogi would travel the western United States with their RV trailer camping and golfing many courses.

     Margaret Ann is survived by her husband, Elwyn Behrens of Wendell, two sons, Stacey Del Behrens and Terry Elwyn Behrens both of Twin Falls, one daughter, Vicky Lynn Jackson of Meridian.  seven grandchildren, Jennifer Rene Jackson-Kim, Kimra Lynn Rich, Derek Kole Jackson, Tyler Kent Jackson, Tiffany Dawn Arizmendi, Rebecca Ann Behrens and Katelyn Marie Behrens,  and  nine great grandchildren, Kiya Lee Jackson, Keira Rose Jackson, Maxwell Jackson Rich, Declan Jarvis Rich, Isaac Isaih Arizmendi, Janice Adelina Arizmendi, Esmeralda Elizabeth Arizmendi, Estrella Violeta Arizmendi and Eliazar DeJesus Arizmendi.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Levica and Grover Cleveland Beem, brother, Isaac Beem, and sisters, Lucille Lloyd, Mary Holste and Katheryn Harding.

     Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Wendell Cemetery, Wendell, Idaho with Donnie Johnson officiating. 

     Services are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Wendell Chapel.
