Robert M. “Bob” Hughes, 67, passed away after a long illness on July 4, 2018, at Stonebridge Assisted Living Center in Wendell.
He was born on March 16, 1951 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Preston B. and Bertha Hughes. He attended school in Buhl and Wendell.
Bob worked at Clear Lakes Fish Hatchery after he was out of school. He later worked as a carpenter in California and for a short time in Hawaii. He returned to Idaho where he worked in construction in Sun Valley and retired after 10 years with Hatfield Manufacturing.
He is survived by: one brother, Jim Hughes, and a sister, Chris (James) Jackson, all of Wendell; two nephews, Jim (Kim) Jackson of Ammon, Idaho, and Alan (Sarah) Jackson of Chubbuck, Idaho; one great nephew, Carter Jackson of Ammon and two great nieces, Kate Jackson of Ammon and Ella Jackson of Chubbuck; and one very special cousin, Linda Flarherty of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sisters; and grandparents, Howard and Margery Lewton and Ballard and Mary Hughes.
The family wishes to thank all the employees at Stonebridge Assisted Living for their excellent care of Bob and also Auburn Crest Hospice of Twin Falls for helping our family through the last weeks of Bob’s illness.
A private family graveside service was held and inurnment was on his father’s grave in the Wendell Cemetery. Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Wendell Chapel.
