Ben Holland

     Benjamin James Holland, 47, a resident of Gooding, died July 3, 2026.

     Ben was born on January 26, 1979 in Gooding, Idaho the son of Jim and Tina Holland.

     Ben was raised in Gooding where he learned at an early age how to turn wrenches and build motors with his dad at Jim’s Repair. Growing up, he loved camping, riding dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and going boating with his brothers, Jamie and Danny.

     Ben graduated from Gooding High School in 1998. During his high school years, Ben played football and cherished all the friendships he made, making life-long friends.

     Throughout his life, Ben’s passion for dirt bikes and snowmobiles meant he was very involved in clubs including: Northside Snow Riders, Idaho Snow Riders, Magic Valley Snowmobile Club, Magic Valley Trail Machine Association, and Idaho State Snowmobile Association. He always expressed the importance of trail access and giving generations to come the opportunity to enjoy all that he loved. Ben also participated in hill climbs and drag races. When he was three years old, he participated in his first race on his little Kitty Cat. Once he was a little older, Ben worked alongside his Mom, who announced at the races while he ran the lights for both snow and grass drags. These were special times for Ben, and he always treasured their time together.

     Ben dedicated his life to his family legacy, running Jim’s Repair in Gooding. His customers were always more than just that, they became his friends. Ben would take the time to listen to each and every person who walked into the shop, and truly wanted to help everyone.

    Ben left a lasting impact on each person he met. Strangers became his friends, and his friends were his family. He made everyone around him feel so loved. Ben was the type of friend who made that extra stop to just check in and say hi. He enjoyed sitting around campfires, playing on his Golf League with friends, and standing in the driveway just visiting. He was the friend you could call anytime, and he’d always come running. His generous heart was as big as his infectious giggle.

     In 2013 Ben found the love of his life, Katie. After a jet ski date at Dog Creek, Ben knew he would spend the rest of his life with her. They married on March 8, 2017 in Gooding, Idaho. He was a loving and caring husband. Ben cherished every moment with his wife and took the time to build an unbreakable bond.

     Ben’s life was complete when he became the father to three incredible children: Jack, Paige, and Ava. He was such a proud and loving dad. He made sure to share his love of adventure with them. He spent time teaching them how to ride dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and how to “hold tight” on a tube behind the boat. He supported them in all the things they loved, always. Ben was happiest when he was with his children. He loved them with his whole heart.

     Ben is survived by: his wife - Katie (Hobdey) Holland; his parents - Jim and Tina (Wolfe) Holland; his son – Jack; two daughters - Paige and Ava; and his brother - Danny.

     Ben is preceded in death by: his grandparents - Orville James Holland and Ben and Ellie Wolfe; his father-in-law - Dale Hobdey; and his brother - Jamie Holland.

     A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Gooding Country Club from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.

     A private family graveside will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding.

     Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
