Connie Sue (Dains) King

     Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of, Connie Sue (Dains) King who left us peacefully on June 27th at the age of 75. Through every challenge, she showed great strength and fought until the very end.

     Connie was born August 16, 1950 in Gooding Idaho to Wylie and Laura Dains, a little sister to two big brothers. Connie grew up in Gooding Idaho on a small farm, taking care of her pet cow and riding her horse. Her love of dancing lead her to attend a dance at the Gooding Armory where she met Terry King they became high school sweethearts. Connie graduated from Gooding High School May 1968 and on Sept 20, 1968 Connie married her high school sweetheart, Terry King and off on their adventure to Portland OR. Later living in Tremonton UT, Richfield ID, Caldwell ID, Parker AZ and Hagerman ID

     Connie’s work experience included Bank teller, Stockyard sales, Glanbia, and farming.  On the farm she operated tractors, milked cows and fed calves. She embraced the hard work and dedication of farm life, anchoring both the household and the farm with her quiet strength and grace. Her love of tractors may have come from riding with Terry while plowing when dating.

     Motherhood was her greatest accomplishment - two boys and one girl - Lance, Laine, and Janda.   Connie spent her life creating a warm and loving home. Her legendary homemade spaghetti was a family staple. She was a deeply devoted grandmother who made magic out of ordinary moments. She enjoyed many sleepovers with her grandkids which consisted of lots of laughter, special treats and so much love. She loved being with family, one of her favorite trips was when her family went to the Oregon Coast.

     She loved playing games but hated to lose, she was very competitive. If she lost to Terry at domino’s multiple times she would refuse to play for a couple of days. She enjoyed barrel racing, cutter races and music. She was a dedicated, sharp-witted fan of the Price is Right, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

     Parker Arizona was her winter destination for the last 8 years, where she made friends that became her second family. Golfing, card playing, kayaking, dinners, and shopping trips to Bealls -  always something to do. She loved the time she spent in Arizona.

     Connie is survived by her spouse Terry, children Lance (Shelly) King, Janda Hill, Brother Larry (Jan) Dains, 6 grandkids, Tiarra, Jayden, Kyrie (Hill), Dawson (King), Makenzie, Ethan, 3 great grandkids Westlynn, Charlotte, Braylon

     She is now peacefully reunited with her beloved son, Laine and her parents.

     A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield.

     Funeral and cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
