Donald Kuhn, 99, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at his home in Gooding.
Donald was born on August 3, 1923 in Neligh, Nebraska, the son of Jesse Emmett Kuhn and Ester Lestella Pexton Kuhn.
He was raised and educated in Nebraska and moved to Idaho with his family at the age of 15, working harvest jobs on the way. They settled in the Magic Valley.
Donald joined the U.S. Navy on January 28, 1945 during W.W. II. He was honorably discharged on July 30, 1946. After his discharge he returned home to Idaho.
He married Frances Very on June 29, 1947 in Nampa. They settled in Gooding where he worked at various locations, starting a car hauling business and Kuhn Tank Lines. Donald farmed a small farm east of Gooding and worked for Wycoff until he retired.
Donald is survived by: two daughters – Janice Jacobson of Gooding and Faye Marshall of Buhl; one brother – Bob Kuhn of Rigbyand one sister – Leota Hulme of Caldwell; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his wife – Frances Kuhn; two daughters – Susan Lehigh and Donita Kuhn; son-in-law – Jim Jacobson; brothers - Alfred Kuhn, Roland Kuhn, Lawrence Kuhn, Leonard Kuhn, Gene Kuhn and Larry Kuhn; and sisters – Florence Kaczar, Lola Shrader, Verna Wehenkel, Mildred Wilson, Ruth Silkman and Doris Basterrechea.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding.
