Douglas Joseph Edlund, 70, a resident of Filer, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Twin Falls Transitional Care Center in Twin Falls.
Douglas was born on September 6, 1954 in Turlock, California, the son of Douglas Peter Edlund and Grace Evelyn Christensen Edlund.
He attended his schooling in Hilmar, California. After he graduated from high school he attended Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, California, studying the dairy industry. Doug worked in Houston, California at Carnation Genetics, hauling bulls to various farmers in the area.
His parents and brother – Mike moved to Richfield, Idaho in 1979 where they started the family dairy business. In the early 1980’s Doug followed them to Richfield to work with the family business.
On August 18, 1991 his father – Douglas passed away. His mother sold the milk cows and moved to Filer. Douglas moved to Filer to live with his mom.
On February 1, 2003 his mother – Grace passed away. Douglas continued to live in Filer where he worked for the Twin Falls Canal Company – Buhl Yard, as a ditch rider and in the welding shop in Buhl. He retired in 2020 at the age of 65.
Douglas is survived by: his brother – Mike Edlund of Richfield; and his nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Douglas and Grace; his brother – Dennis Edlund; and his sister – Peggy Irwin.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel.
