Ed Gnesa

     Ed Gnesa, 61, a resident of Gooding, passed away at Portneuf Medical Center surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

     Ed Gnesa was born on October 25, 1959 in Hollister, California, the son of Arthur and Barbara Gnesa.  He was raised and educated in Gooding, Idaho.

     Ed worked many jobs driving truck and working in the cattle industry.  He finally settled working at Gnesa Excavating for his brother Ben and raising cattle. 

     Ed loved hunting, fishing, camping, riding his Razor and socializing with his friends.  He never met a stranger.  Ed was especially proud of his children and grandchildren.  He always told people he raised the best four kids around.

    Ed married the love of his life – Lana McLaughlin on December 27, 1997 in Jackpot, Nevada.  They were married for 23 years.

     Ed is survived by: his wife Lana; his sons – Joe (Jessica) Gnesa of Arizona and Matt Tranholt of Boise; his daughters – Amy (Buddy) Peterson of North Dakota and Jenna (Trevor) Jones of Gooding; five grandchildren – Ava and Elysa Gnesa, Wyatt, Meritt and Baylor Peterson; his brothers – Ben (Carol) Gnesa of Gooding, Jim (Shannon) Gnesa of Hazleton; and his sister – Heidi (Harold) Olson of Gooding; and his nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents.

     A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Rodeo Arena at the Gooding County Fairgrounds.

     Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding.

     A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Demaray Funeral Service - Gooding Chapel.
