Frances Elise (Hollenback) McCammon, age 85, of Gooding, Idaho, passed away Friday, April 17th, 2026 in the comfort of her home, with her girls by her side.
Frances was born on April 7th, 1941, in Fairfield, Idaho to Russell and Nellie Hollenback. Francie graduated from Camas County High School in May of 1959. Following high school, she attended Weber State for a year then moved to Shoshone where she worked at the Boston Cafe. There she met her husband, Harvey McCammon and the two were married in 1962.
Harvey and Francie worked for Willard Gerard on his ranch northwest of the Big Wood River in Blaine County, where they had two daughters, Wendy and Mickey. In 1968 the family moved to the Camas Prairie. Francie worked for several years at the Market Basket until she became head cook for the Camas lunch program. She retired in 2002 and the couple moved to Gooding in 2005. Harvey passed away in 2007.
Francie enjoyed her garden, was an avid reader, a devout Catholic and showed all of her love for her family by cooking for them. She’s widely known for her zesty personality and her generosity to others.
She is survived by her daughters; Wendy (Ted) Strickler, Mickey (Tony) Dalin, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, her parents Russell and Nelly Hollenback, her sister Florence Hall and two precious great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Gooding, Idaho.
The Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am and the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, April 24th, 2026.
Graveside Committal will follow immediately at the Elmwood Cemetery.
