James Eslie Brizendine, Jr.

James Brizendine

     In the quiet early morning hours of March 26, 2021, James (Jim) Eslie Brizendine Jr., 75, stepped into the hereafter at his home in the Hagerman Valley.

     He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on June 13, 1945, the only son of James Eslie Brizendine Sr. and Martha Hickman Carter.

     Jim met his beloved wife, Jennette Wood, of 51 years on a blind date. They were married on Valentine’s Day 1970.

     He is survived by: his wife, Jennette; son, David (Kelsey) Brizendine; daughters, Tara (Mitch) Reese, Darla Brizendine, and Sundii (Jonasee) Brizendine; his sister, Teresa; and nephew, Shanandoe Brizendine. His delightful grandchildren include Ashton and Gavin Veenstra, Gage Brizendine, Amaya and Lucas Brizendine.  He also leaves behind his canine shadow, Daisy Mae.

     Jim is preceded in death by his parents; and oldest son, James Henry Brizendine.

     A public viewing will be held at Demaray Funeral Service - Gooding Chapel on April 1, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.      

     A graveside service will be conducted at the Hagerman Cemetery on April 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm.

     An informal dinner will be held following the service at Sundii & Jonasee Brizendine’s house in Bliss. Social distancing will be encouraged. Please bring a chair.
