James Crouson Obituary

   James F. Crouson, 87, a resident of Wendell, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Stonebridge Assisted Living in Wendell.

   Jim was born December 27, 1937 near Trimble, Tennessee, to Harry and Margaret Crouson. At the age of 14, his family moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where he attended Pocatello High School and graduated in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Lucille Scott, on January 24, 1958 in Pocatello, Idaho.

   Jim spent 23 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Master Sergeant. He also retired from Massey-Ferguson where he was a parts manager. He was an avid action cowboy shooter and belonged to the Snake River Western Shooting Society. He was a paid-up for life member of the American Legion, The Disabled American Veterans, and The Retired Enlisted Association. Jim was a member of The National Rifle Association and The Living Waters Presbyterian Church.

   He is preceded in death by: his parents – Harry and Margaret Crouson; his wife – Lucille Crouson; a son – Scott Crouson; and two brothers – Michael and Lewis Crouson.

   He is survived by: his three sons – Bradley, Jeffery and John, all of California; one daughter – Jennifer Scales, also of California; two brothers – Terry and Tom of California; one sister – Sharon of California; eight grandchildren, all of California; and five great grandchildren.

   A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Living Waters Presbyterian Church in Wendell, Idaho.  Burial will follow at the Wendell Cemetery.
