John Sabala

     John Anthony Sabala, 80, a resident of Gooding, passed away on October 21, 2025 at his home.

     John was born on March 11, 1945 in Gooding, Idaho, the son of Augustin and Claudia Sabala.

     He was raised and educated in Gooding, graduating in 1963.  John served in the National Guard for seven years.  He then continued to farm until his retirement.

     John married Sandra Whittaker on March 31, 1967 in Gooding.

     He is survived by: his wife of 58 years – Sandra Sabala of Gooding; two sons – Pat Sabala and Jim (Athena) Sabala, all of Gooding; his brother – Nick Sabala of Gooding; his sister – Julia Spackman of Twin Falls; grandchildren – Jeneca Sabala, Daphne King, Sebastian Sabala, Derek Sabala, Tristan Sabala and Brendan Sabala; and 10 great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his brothers – Frank, Ray and Dean Sabala.

     A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:00 am with Father Carlos Rosero officiating.

     Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
