Julie Dee (Calkins) Storey

Julie Dee Storey (Calkins), 63, of Fairfield, ID, passed away on June 1, 2026, surrounded by loving family and friends. 

Julie was born on June 2, 1962, in Hagerman, ID to James (Bud) Calkins and Louise (Dickerson) Calkins, who both preceded her in death. 

Julie graduated from Fairfield High School in 1980.  She married Michael John Storey (Gooding, ID) on July 13, 1980, and they have been together ever since. 

Mike and Julie were blessed with three daughters, Samantha Westendorf (McCall, ID), Tisa Lund (Tekoa, WA), Karen Williams (Idaho Falls, ID), and four sweet granddaughters Alice, Greta, Adi, and Elsie.  She is also survived by seven siblings, Jim Calkins (Highlands Ranch, CO), Jerry Laughlin (Hagerman, ID), Renie Parish (Albion, ID), Craig Laughlin (Hagerman, ID), Roger Laughlin (Hagerman, ID), Linda McCammon (Hagerman, ID), and Dana Calkins (Mountain City, NV).  She is further survived by too many nieces and nephews to count, and she loved them all.

Julie was ever energetic and she spent most of her life keeping a beautiful home and taking care of her family. She adored her parents, Bud & Louise, and missed them terribly after they passed. Julie absolutely excelled at seeing the joy in the small things in life. She loved watching birds, going for walks, and spending time with her family. She knew how to make holidays and birthdays special. Her daughters remember her nursing them through earaches and hard times. Her energy was infectious and the world simply shines less bright without her.

A memorial service will be held later this summer.
