Julio Landa Mancias, 85, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday December 16, 2020, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, due to Covid-19.
He was born in Realitos, Texas on December 20, 1934. He married our mother Maria Lydia Leos (Castaneda) and welcomed five children into their lives. They later divorced, but remained friends. He was the family joker, smiling and always trying to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed the outdoor life of farming, fishing, hunting and camping.
He is survived by: his daughter - Elida (Alvin) Miles; son - Rudy (Debbie) Mancias, son - Julio Mancias Jr, and daughter - Selma (Anthony) Romero; and brother - Remigo Mancias. He had 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nephews, nieces, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and cousins that he dearly loved from Arizona, California, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Nebraska, Michigan, Oregon and Texas. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by: his parents - Julian and Apolonia; son - Mario, sister - Virginia Landa, brothers - Genaro, Eduardo, Adrian, Ramon, Guadalupe; brother-in-law - Lupe Leos and sister - Delores Leos.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at Bennett Hills Rehabilitation and Care Center of Gooding, Idaho for the care and compassion they gave their father.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 802 F Street Rupert, Idaho.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
