Kerri Rey Stroud Parks, 37, a resident of Gooding, passed away unexpectantly on Monday, July 25, 2022.
Making her presence on January 11th as the first baby born in the Gooding Hospital in 1985, Kerri was also celebrated as the last scheduled delivery prior to the closure of the hospital’s delivery ward.
Kerri’s childhood was spent in Gooding where she attended school and graduated in 2003. From a very young age Kerri was a passionate animal lover, rescuing every stray animal she came across. Occasionally without her parents’ knowledge, a stray dog or cat would be living in her room for a day or two until either she confessed or was able to find the perfect home. Kerri’s love of animals continued into her adulthood and she dedicated much of her free time to volunteering to transport or foster an animal in need.
Kerri was the loving mother of Destry, Savannah, Peyton and Kaden and was fiercely proud and protective. Each of them held a very special place in her heart and she will forever be watching over them.
As a friend to many, Kerri had a special gift of caring for those in need and assisted many in the community. She was always willing to lend a hand, volunteer or fundraise whenever the opportunity arose.
Kerri will forever be remembered by her parents – Steve and Leata Stroud; grandmother – Patricia Lierman; her husband – Michael Parks; her children; sisters – Stephanie (Rob) Martensen and Mandy (Russell) Clark; nieces, a nephew and many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
May she rest in peace alongside her maternal grandfather – Lloyd Lierman and paternal grandparents – Herb and Margery Stroud.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Chapel.
In Kerri’s memory, donations can be made to her children’s college funds
(Columbia Bank in Gooding or given to Leata Stroud for deposit)
or to an animal rescue of choice.
