Larry Deeds Obituary

     Harold “Larry” Deeds, 78, a resident of Richfield, Idaho, died November 18, 2021, at Twin Falls, Idaho.

     Larry was born on November 10, 1943, in Gooding, Idaho, the son of Lyle and Rosetta Deeds.  Larry spent his life in Richfield graduating from Richfield High School.  He attended the University of Idaho in Moscow graduating with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Upon graduation from the U of I, he enlisted in the US Navy.  There he achieved the rank of Lieutenant /Junior Grade upon completion of Naval Officer Candidate School and Engineer Officers Course.  He was assigned to the USS Lang, where he continued his education by completing courses in 1200 PSI Steam Propulsion and Nuclear Weapons Orientation.

     Larry returned home, eventually purchasing the family farm and small dairy.  He was an active member of the American Legion Post #1, especially enjoying the annual 4th of July fireworks.  He was a regular at the afternoon coffee to catch-up on the latest happenings in town.

     He is survived by three sisters - Jeanette (Ronald) Sluder of Richland, WA, Irene Allen of Arco, ID, and Dorothy (Glenn) Barton of Richfield, ID.

     He was preceded in death by his parents - Lyle and Rosetta Deeds; a brother - Lynn Deeds and a nephew - Jess Caudell.  

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Richfield L.D.S. Church in Richfield with Bishop Bob Telford conducting.

     Burial with military honors will follow in the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield, ID.

     Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of services on Wednesday at the Richfield LDS church.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the Richfield American Legion Post #1, Lincoln County Ambulance or a charity of your choice.

     Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel.
