Lawrence "Larry" Price Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Miles Price, 90, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Saturday, January 8th, 2021, at his home in Gooding surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on July 9th, 1931, to Lola and Alvin Price in Tucson, Arizona. Larry was one of ten children and loved to reminisce about his experiences growing up in such a loving family. Larry graduated from Tucson High School, and fulfilled an LDS mission in the northern states. After returning home from his mission, he was drafted to the army for two years and served seventeen months in Korea and Japan. Upon return, he attended Brigham Young University where he met Mary Lynn DeHeer, the love his life. Shortly thereafter, they were married on March 15th, 1958, in the Manti Temple. Together they had seven children resulting in many grandchildren and a house filled with love.

Larry and Mary started their life journey in Kirtland, New Mexico where Larry worked for the El Paso gas company. From there, they moved to Reno, Nevada where they managed a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. Later, Larry moved to Orem, Utah to pursue his lifelong dream of owning a home construction business. Ultimately, Larry moved his family to Gooding, Idaho in 1984 to establish himself in the dairy and farming community. Although difficult at times, he loved to work with the cows and his neighbors in the industry. After retiring from the dairy, Larry took on one of his most cherished roles as a bus driver for the Gooding School District. He formed special bonds with many of the students due to his kind heart and love of school sports.

Larry was a person of many passions and talents. He loved building and took great pride in the fact that he lived in a home he built with his hands. He expressed his love through his woodworking projects that his family will forever cherish. Larry was often known to make wooden furniture and frames for others, as they were a great source of pride. Larry also loved reading, music, and gardening. He could often be found in his greenhouse and garden taking tender care of his plants and flowers. This is evidenced by the beautiful home Larry was so proud to display to all who came calling. Larry was well known for his beautiful singing and performed at many local events such as in churches, community functions, and funerals. Above all things Larry treasured his family the most.

Larry is survived by his brother, Tom (Kate); sister, Tress Ann (Stewart); and his children:  Jeanine and (George) Wojtowicz of Rockford, Illinois; Shauna Price of Kuna Idaho; Nathan (Jamie) Price of Gooding; Loren (Jennifer) Price of Gooding; and Lisa and Lynn Ann Price.  Larry is also survived by his many beloved grandchildren.

Larry was proceeded in death by his parents - Alvin and Lola Price; his wife - Mary Lynn DeHeer; brothers - Alvin, Stephen, Benjamin, and Clark; sisters - Pauline, Mildred, and Caroline; and daughter - Pauline Price.

Due to current circumstances and Larry’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services conducted, however, we would like to extend an invitation to all to share their thoughts, experiences, and memories through Demaray Funeral Service web-page obituary for Larry and those with Facebook.   Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/632078061269210
