Lois' Celebration of Life - Zoom Link
Lois Louise Packer, 87, a resident of Twin Falls and formerly of Hagerman, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at The Canyons Assisted Care in Twin Falls
Lois Louise Beck was born on June 14, 1938 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Howard and Opal Beck. She was the middle child in a growing family – first with an older sister and brother, and later joined by another sister and brother. Lois spent her early childhood in downtown Pocatello before her family moved to a new home near Pocatello Creek.
Life in those early years was simple and formative. The family had no indoor plumbing, and water came from a single sink that required turning on a pump – experiences that shaped Lois’s resilience, appreciation for hard work, and gratitude for life’s simple comforts.
When the Packer family moved next door, a lifelong connection began. Lois graduated from Pocatello High School in 1957 and married Milo Packer on January 23, 1958. Together, they built a full and loving life.
Lois and Milo were blessed with five children: Kathleen “Kathy” - born December 1958; Eric – born April 1960; Cynthia “Cindy” – August 1962; Michelle – born 1965; and Rebecca “Becky” – born July 1970.
While raising their family, Lois earned her teaching degree from Idaho State University – a testament to her determination and commitment to education. She taught for many years at Stoddard Elementary School, where she touched countless young lives with patience, kindness and care.
In 1983, Lois, Milo and Becky moved to Temperance, Michigan, where she continued teaching at Luna Pier Elementary School until her retirement. In 1998, Lois returned to Idaho, settling in Hagerman, where she enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors and being closer to family.
Lois was a wonderful artist, a gifted piano player, and a woman who deeply loved nature. Above all, she cherished her family and the moments when everyone could be together. She found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved.
Lois was blessed with a large and loving family, including 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Her beloved husband, Milo, passed away on November 14, 2018. Lois carried his memory with her and remained a steady, loving presence for her family
Lois Louise Beck Packer will be remembered for her strength, creativity, dedication to education, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she shaped – as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher and friend.
She is survived by: her children - Kathy (Dave) Earnhart of Meridian; Eric (Karen) Packer of Klowcock, Alaska; Cindy (Rob) Wade of Twin Falls; Michelle (Chuck) Reay of Blackfoot; and Becky (Gary) Reynolds of Castleford; one brother – Jim Beck of Blackfoot; two sisters – Virginia Farmer of Twin Falls and Sharon Bell of Pocatello; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
