Maria G. Lira, 63, a resident of Wendell, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at her home in Wendell.
Maria G. Lira, was born on December 9, 1960 in La Cienega, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Cosme and Agustina Cobian. She was raised and educated in Compton, California.
She married Pedro Lira on September 23, 1978 in Compton, California. Their marriage was for 42 years. Sadly, her husband passed away in 2021 due to Covid complications. She was the eldest of 11 children. She helped raise her siblings. At the age of 17, she was a dispatcher in Los Angeles, California. She then met the love of her life and got married. She had 5 children. Throughout the years, she received her High School Diploma, CNA, interpreter and notary certificates. She helped so many people in the Hispanic community. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by: her mother – Agustina Cobian of Downey, CA; and ten siblings from CA; her children–Nora (Sergio) Regalado of Shoshone, ID; Yadira (Pascasio) Robles of Bellevue, ID; Marisela Lira of Hollister, ID; Lizette (Victor) Olvira of Gooding, ID; Pedro “Peter" (Katherine) Lira Jr. of Wendell, ID; her grandchildren- Sergio (Kelley) Regalado, Damian Regalado, Joel (Carrie) Lira, Gracie (Andrew) Robles, Allen and Zuemy Vega, Ahtziri, Ariana, Jahdai, and Sebastian Olvira, and Ilya Lira; her great grandchildren- Amaya and Amarah Regalado, Mila and Wren Lira.
She is preceded in death by: her husband- Pedro Lira and her father Cosme Cobian.
Cremation services are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service - Wendell Chapel.
