Marina Lee (Espinoza) Barr

  Marina Lee Barr passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021. Marina was born in Torrance, CA in 1955 to Arthur and LaVerda Espinoza.

     Marina grew up in Redondo Beach, California and graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1974. In 1982 she followed her parents and moved her whole family to Wendell, Idaho where she lived the rest of her life. She worked many jobs from waitressing to a speech tech at the school before becoming the Wendell City Clerk for 14 years. She then went on to work for Freedom Electric until she retired in 2018.

     Marina was a strong, brave woman that fought cancer twice and was finally in remission. Fiercely protective of her family, they were her whole world. She was constantly attending a grandchild’s event, shopping with her girls, visiting at her parent's and hosting family holidays. She loved to take off camping or for a weekend getaway. She was the life of any party, always making a joke or being silly to make others laugh. Everyone that knew her loved her and will remember her beautiful smile. Marina's absence will leave a huge hole in many hearts.

     She is survived by her mother LaVerda Espinoza; husband Dennis Barr; daughters Tishia (Steve) Short, Kristie (Jason) Sutton, Kelli (Jared) Barr; grandchildren Trevor (Chelsey) Short, Brianna Short, Kelby Sutton, Hailee Short, Kolby Sutton, Abigaile D’Ambra, Gabrielle Wengert, two great grandchildren Axton and Roman Short, a brother Marty (Debbie) Espinoza, and a sister Lisa (Colin) Espinoza; and several nieces and nephews.

     A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the American Legion Hall in Wendell.

     Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Wendell Chapel.
