Mary Louise (Fleming) Stockham

June 25, 1948 – May 6, 2026

On May 6, 2026, at 7:32 a.m., our beautiful Momma (Mimi) departed this earth for her place in Heaven. Mom fought a long and hard battle against cancer and passed peacefully with family by her side. During the weeks before she passed, she was surrounded by family and friends who came to see her. Stories were shared, laughter filled the room, and many tears were shed as we all realized the incredible impact our mom had on so many lives.

Mom was born on June 25,1948, in Florin, California, to Leonard and Dorothy (Houston) Fleming. She grew up alongside her two older brothers, Tom and Bill Fleming. On May 28,1965, she married Ron Stockham in Gooding, Idaho, where they built a beautiful family together and remained in the area for the rest of their lives.

Together, Mom and Dad raised four children: Steve, Scott, Jase, and Codi. 

Mom and Dad were blessed with 11 grandchildren: Niina Alexander (Mason), Ryan Stockham; Stephanie Prinz (Austin); Megan Cross (Jack); Lilliann Stockham (Grant); Ellie Stockham (Axel); Izzie Stockham (Evan); Cougar Stockham; Alyssa Escobedo (Mykah); Breyden Bunderson; and Peyten Bunderson.  They were also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Hadleigh Prinz, Nora Prinz, and Amaiya Alexander.

Mom (Mimi) had a deep love for her children and grandchildren. She made every effort to attend sporting events, band concerts, birthdays, weddings, and every important moment in between. She was always looking for a reason to gather the family together so she could spend time with the people she loved most. One of the biggest highlights was when she was able to take the entire family to Hawaii in August of 2025. 

Mom would proudly tell anyone about her grandchildren and all they had accomplished. One of her favorite things was the picture frame that family members could send photos to. She would light up with excitement every time she heard the notification that a new picture had come through. She cherished visits, daily phone calls, texts, and conversations from family and friends.

While Mom’s passing was expected, it is still difficult each day not to see her sitting on the porch waving to the grandkids as they head off to school, tending to her flower gardens, or putting out more solar lights because she felt the need to light up that place so much that we joked she was trying to communicate with aliens.

No matter what challenges life brought, Mom (Mimi) always encouraged us, comforted us, and shared wisdom from her own experiences. She left all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends with four simple words that will never be forgotten and will continue to guide us through this difficult time:

“THIS TOO SHALL PASS”

She is survived by her husband Ron, children, Steve Stockham and daughter-in-law Harue of Everett Washington, Scott Stockham and daughter-in-law Becky of Swannanoa North Carolina, Jase Stockham and Becca of Gooding Idaho,  Codi Stockham-Bunderson of Gooding Idaho, unofficial adopted son Travis Adams and Christina of Riverview Florida, longtime friend Patti Casch, and brother who was also her best friend, Bill Fleming and sister-in-law Peg Fleming of Wendell, Idaho, and grandkids and great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Dorothy, stepfather Dwane (Hootch) Machacek, and brother Thomas Fleming.

We cannot thank our family and friends enough for the love and support we have received. On behalf of the Stockham family, thank you all so much for the overwhelming kindness, love, and support shown during this time.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm

at the Elk's Lodge at 624 California Street in Gooding.

The family requests that you wear something

that is Hawaiian themed, so wear your brightest colors.

In lieu of flowers or planting a tree,

the family asks that memorial donations be made to

a local animal shelter in Mary’s honor, reflecting her love for animals.
