Mary Kay Braga Obituary

Mary Kay Braga was born September 16, 1954 in Oregon City, Oregon and passed away at her home on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the age of 63.

She is survived by her husband, John Braga, her mother, Ellen Trader (Leroy), her brother Dan Burnum (Rowena) and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

She spent most of her life in Idaho and did spend a few years working in Antarctica at McMurdo Station.

She was a giving and generous person and was very good about remembering birthdays.  She always included her critters and would sign her cards “Mary Kay, John and Critters”.  She had an amazing love of and connection with animals.  She has been quoted as saying, “If I won the lottery, I would purchase a huge area to take in all the orphaned or abused animals in the world, keep them happy, safe and healthy-and share them with folk who would be happy to have them as well.”

In her younger years she enjoyed playing cards, hiking, camping and just spending time with family and friends.  She was a free spirit and loved the outdoors and her “critters”.

She was a great person and the world is a better place because of her.  She was loved by so many and will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Humane Society.

Mary Kay requested no funeral services; however, there will be a celebration of life on Saturday, July 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 under the shelter at the East Park (by the swimming pool) in Gooding.
