Naomi M. (Hine) Floyd

     Naomi M. Floyd, 91, a resident of Boise (formerly Gooding) passed away October 31, 2024 at Shaw Mountain of Cascadia in Boise.

     She was born March 5, 1933 to Earl R. Hine and Hilma Elizabeth Roddy in Kimberly, Idaho.

     Naomi was raised in Twin Falls, spent her primary school years in Twin Falls until she graduated High School in 1951. She continued her education at Links Business School. Later she found employment at Idaho Power in Gooding prior to marrying Chet Floyd on July 1, 1954 in Elko, Nevada.

     After moving to Alaska for a short time, the two moved back to Idaho.

     Naomi was very active in the Gooding American Legion Auxiliary serving as President. She served as a dispatcher for the Gooding Police Department when Chet was Chief of Police. Through the years Naomi had a variety of jobs outside the home, mainly in sales.

     Her greatest accomplishment in my mind was her role as a mother to both Larry and Janet.
     She loved to camp, garden, travel, take long walks and spend time with many friends and family. She was kind, funny, thoughtful teaching her children the importance of respect and good manners.

     She was the best mother we could have asked for and we will miss her dearly.

     She is survived by her daughter - Janet Floyd (Tom Christiansen).

     She was preceded in death by her spouse – Chet T. Floyd; her parents; and son - Larry Floyd.
     A graveside funeral service will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
