Nina Louise (Palmer) Newbry

     Nina Newbry, 84, of Wendell, folded her last Pinochle hand on March 3, 2024.

     She was born on February 20, 1940, to Frank and Altha Palmer and was raised and educated in Gooding. She later met and married Tom Newbry and started her family which included, four sons and numerous fur babies.

     Mom was the “rock” that held all the boys together throughout the years. She had no fancy degree, designer clothes, no titled position, however, she could out fish and card shark the best of them. She could grind the gears of a school bus or spud truck like no other and smack us boys in the back seat while driving her car with one hand drinking her coffee in the other.  Mom enjoyed her camping trips with her Good Sam friends and travelling the country as well as her hobbies (ceramics, crochet, card cheating, grandkids, etc.).

     Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years - Tom, her grandson - Tiarik; and is survived by her sons - Tim, Mark (Anne), Brad (Molly), and Scott (Marguerite); her nine grandchildren, and six great grandkids.

     A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Demaray Funeral Service - Wendell Chapel.

     A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls.

     Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Wendell Chapel.
