Richard "Rick" Warren Baker

     Richard “Rick” Baker, 71, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding.

     Richard was born on May 9, 1949 in Wendell, Idaho, the son of Warren Lee Baker and Marjorie Ann Ashmead.  He was raised and educated in Fairfield.

     Rick served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a combat engineer from November 1971 – September 1974.

     He is survived by: his daughter – Hope Melissa Ripley of Cantonment, Florida; three brothers – Donald Baker, Mark Baker and Larry Ashmead, all of Gooding; two sisters – Kathleen Hogan of Fallon, Nevada and Linda Huber of Hagerman; and one grandchild – Seth Michael Young.

     Rick was preceded in death by: his mother - Marjorie Ann Ashmead and his father – Warren Lee Baker; one sister – Marla Jean Baker; and many aunts and uncles.

     No funeral services will be held.  A private family inurnment will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery north of Fairfield.

     Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
