Ryan Allan Scott, age 33, a resident of Gooding, Idaho, died February 25, 2026, peacefully at home in his sleep.
Ryan was born on August 8th, 1992 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of Amy McInnis Scott and Dwain Scott.
He was raised in both Idaho and Wisconsin. Ryan loved the desert scenery of his southern Idaho home, and the forested lands of his Wisconsin home, along with the shores of Lake Michigan.
Ryan's life started carefree and bright, but became darker as time went on. No matter how hard he tried, he could not escape the unrelenting demons of alcoholism and mental illness. Though he lost the physical battle, those demons did not win. Because Ryan won't be remembered for the darkness that loomed, but for the light he shone.
Ryan loved to play electric & acoustic guitar, starting at 12 years old and fully self-taught. He wrote many of his own songs and enjoyed challenging himself to learn songs by ear. Music wasn't his only creative outlet, Ryan was an avid writer of poetry, along with seven novels, creating fantasy universes. His wit was unmatched, with dreams of being a stand-up comedian. An imagination that truly never ceased.
Talented, humorous, loving, loyal, creative; this is how Ryan will be remembered.
He is survived by his loving parents, Amy McInnis Scott of Manistee, MI & Dwain Scott of Gooding, ID. Sister, Kaitlyn Scott (Dakota Carlson) of Weston, WI. Grandmother, Janet McInnis. Uncle, John McInnis. Aunt Julie & Uncle Pat Popp. Three chosen brothers, Tyler Fulcer, Carter Gilliland, and Randy Twobulls. One fur-baby, cat, Will Feral. And many loving cousins & friends (including online friends).
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Russell & Joan Scott, maternal grandfather Peter McInnis, maternal step grandfather Floyd Morse, Uncle David "Scotty" Scott.
Ryan, we will forever look to you amongst the moon and stars.
