Sandra L. Maxwell, 77, of Boise, Idaho and formerly of Gooding, died on July 2nd, 2024, from complications of myelofibrosis.
She was born on February 7th, 1947, to Riley and Bertha McCall and was the second of five daughters.
A pastor’s daughter, she moved around a lot as a child. The family eventually settled in Kimberly, Idaho, where she graduated from high school. She married her husband, Roger Maxwell, in 1965. They had four children, and she worked a variety of administrative jobs in the legal and medical fields until she retired. She was an active member of the Southern Baptist faith community and spent many years teaching Sunday School and playing piano for Sunday services. She is a published co-author of three books alongside her sister, Connie Seibert.
Sandy was delightfully stubborn and wasn’t afraid to advocate for herself or her loved ones. She enjoyed reading, playing card games with her family, and solving word puzzles. Her nightly ritual consisted of having popcorn and iced tea, which she often shared with her daughter, oldest granddaughters, and the family dog. She loved her family and was always generous with her time, wisdom, and intellect. She was a lifelong learner and never shied away from different perspectives.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents - Riley and Bertha McCall; her youngest son - Steven Riley Maxwell; and her grandson - Gabriel Maxwell.
She is survived by her husband - Roger Maxwell; her children - Brent (LeeAnn) Maxwell, Stacie (Doug) Myers, and Jeff (Amanda) Maxwell; her grandchildren - Steven (Airam) Maxwell, Haley Myers, Bethany Myers, Seth (Marcia) Maxwell, Hannah (Tim) Norris, David Maxwell, and Cole Maxwell; her great-granddaughter, Sophia Maxwell; her sisters Connie (Ron) Seibert, Karen (Bill) Gray, Susan (Brad) Wells, and Stephanie (Danny) Hively; in addition to many other relatives.
