Sondra Marie (Byard) Rogers

     Sondra Marie Rogers, age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in Boise Idaho, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and family devotion.

     Born in Shoshone, Idaho on September 26, 1940, to Elsie “Abby” and George Byard, and was later the big sister to Karen (Arkoosh). Sondra was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence touched the lives of all who knew her.

     Sondra was married to the love of her life, Ron Rogers, for 57 wonderful years until his passing in 2020. Together, they built a beautiful life in Gooding Idaho then later in Boise Idaho. As a mother, she was fiercely loving and endlessly proud of her three children: Shauna (Klete), Mitchell (Lonnie), and Joseph (Tanya).

    Her greatest joy came from her role as “Grandma” to her cherished grandchildren: Brian (Heather), Chad, Kylie (Mike), Patrick (Mandy), Zachary, Kelsie, and Hunter.  In her later years, her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her precious great-grandchildren: Margaux, Oliver, Ryder, Braylee, Pacey, Brooks, and Winnie. 

     Sondra had a gentle spirit and a love for the simple pleasures in life. In her younger years, she delighted in playing the piano and organ. She was an avid fan of westerns, Boise State football games, and shopping trips, especially if it was for jewelry, clothes, or home decor. 

     Sondra’s warmth, grace, and enduring sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful reflection of the love she gave so freely and the strength she carried quietly.

     She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

     She is preceded in death by: her husband – Ron; her parents - Abby and George; and her daughter-in-law - Kerri Rogers. 

     A celebration of Sondra’s life will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00 am as a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery in Gooding, followed by lunch at Mitch and Lonnie Rogers home. 

     Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor of Boise.

     Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
