Steven Francis Ritter

Steven Ritter, 69, a resident of Gooding and Shoshone, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Bennett Hills Care Center in Gooding.

     Steven Francis Ritter was born on December 22, 1955 in Burley, Idaho, the son of Walter Francis Ritter and Jessie Wilnetta Klint. 

     He was raised in Shoshone where he graduated from Shoshone High School in 1973.

     After high school he moved to Seattle where he lived with his sister – Sue and her husband, Roger Johnson.  He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for two years,

     In the 1990’s he moved back to south central Idaho where he made his home, working various jobs in the area.

     He later began working in cheese production at Kraft, later Avonmore and Glanbia.  He retired after 25 years.

     He is survived by: his son – Daniel Ritter of Boise, ID; his sister - Susan (Roger) Johnson of Gooding, ID; two brothers - David Ritter of Midvale, ID, and Charles Ritter of Shoshone, ID; sister-in-law - Linda Ritter; and several nieces and nephews.

     Steven was preceded in death by: his parents - Walter Ritter and Jessie (Klint) Ritter; stepmother - Gayla (Adams-Burgess) Ritter; and his brother – James Ritter.

     A celebration of life will be held in the Spring 2026.
