Steven White Obituary

Steven Kay White, 69, a resident of Twin Falls, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Serenity Transitional Care in Twin Falls.

Steve was born on September 21, 1956 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Jack and Vera White.

As a child Steve and his family moved seventeen times, before settling in Boise in 1974.  His love for golf, skiing and playing the trumpet began early in his life.  He excelled at all of these.  However, his true mastery lied in the wrestling matches he had with his siblings.

Steve married Shelley on January 31, 1976 in Boise.

He went to work for his dad as a master plumber in 1978.  This was a very proud moment for Jack.

In 1981, Steve and Shelley started their family in Twin Falls with blessing #1, when Melissa Ann was born on April 15.  They received blessing #2 on March 27, 1983 when Stephanie Shalene was born.  Steve and Shelley found community in NA and AA soon after.

They enjoyed spending time in nature with their daughters.  Many summers were spent at Redfish Lake and Shoshone Falls on the boat.

Steve’s love for golf was still very much alive as well. Later in life he became a self-taught guitarist, which was one of his favorite ways to tap into his creative side.  He wrote poetry, songs, a couple books and made some wonderful art.  He was very passionate about his renewed love for music.  He was a collector of pennies and always up for a good meal.

Those who knew Steve will remember him for being a jokester and for always trying to lighten the mood.  Most of all, those that knew and loved him could clearly see that being of service to others was always on his mind and in his heart.

Steve is survived by: two daughters – Melissa (Richard) White-Steinacker and Stephanie (Chris) Standley, all of Twin Falls; one brother – Cary William White of Boise; two sisters – Christine Michelle McFarlin of Kimberly and Linda Evans of California; five grandchildren – Ariana (Parker) Jones, Richard and Aaliyah Steinacker and Sheydon and Ryelin Standley; one great grandchild – Cora Ann Jones; and long-time friend – Skip Walker.

He was preceded in death by: his parents - John Joseph and Vera Lee White; and a brother – John Gregory White.

A private celebration of life will be held.  If you are interested in attending, for more information, please contact Melissa, Stephanie or Christine.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
