Thomas Farnsworth Warner, 76, of Wendell, Idaho, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Born on December 5, 1949, in San Francisco, California, Tom was the son of Thomas F. Warner and Pauline Ritchey Warner.
In 1951, when Tom was just a year and a half old, his parents purchased a farm north of Jerome, Idaho. Tom attended Pleasant Plains, a rural elementary school, and later graduated from Jerome High School. A talented student with a keen interest in science, he earned a scholarship to the College of Idaho in Caldwell, where he studied chemical engineering for two years before transferring to Stanford University to complete his degree.
Despite his academic accomplishments, Tom’s heart was always in Idaho. Following his graduation, he returned home to farm alongside his father on the family land in Gooding County. Over the decades, he expanded upon his father’s legacy, acquiring additional acreage in 1988 and dedicating his life to the land and the community he cherished.
In 1981, Tom married Jessie Segale, and together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family. Their daughter, Pauline (“Paulie”) Warner, was born in 1984, bringing tremendous joy into their lives. Tom was deeply devoted to his family—steadfast, supportive, and proud of each of them.
Tom was known not only for his commitment to farming but also for his love of Idaho’s outdoor beauty. He was an avid hiker who loved the trails near Sun Valley, where the family enjoyed time at their vacation home. His appreciation for the land extended beyond agriculture; he embraced its mountains, rivers, and open spaces.
Tom’s roots in Idaho ran deep. His grandparents, Thomas F. Warner and his wife Eda, moved to the Twin Falls area in 1906 building one of the original homes in the area. Mr. Warner practiced law in Twin Falls and acquired farms in the Kimberly and Castleford areas establishing the family’s longstanding farming presence in the region.
Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jessie Warner, and their daughter Paulie, both of Wendell; his brother Paul (Ann) Warner of Sulphur, Louisiana, and their children Beth, Thomas, and Katie Warner; and his stepson Patrick Segale of Boise and grandson Kyar (Shannon) Segale.
Tom will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep dedication to the people and places he loved. His legacy continues in the land he cultivated, the family he cherished, and the community he served throughout his life.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 11:00 am at the New Life Community Church with Pastor Paul Kroeger of Berean Baptist Church officiating.
A burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Twin Falls Cemetery in Twin Falls.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service - Wendell Chapel.
