Tim Craig Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Harry Craig, aged 80, a resident of Gooding, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls. He was the son of Ernest and Helen Craig.

Tim was born on March 16, 1944, in Wendell, Idaho. He attended school in Jerome where he participated in football and golf, graduating in 1963. He went on to join the Army National Guard and took advantage of many other opportunities, which led Tim to the J.R. Simplot Company food division as a field man contracting potatoes and looking after potato storages in the valley. After 25 years of service, Tim retired and spent his time pursuing new passions with photography and woodworking. He also loved supporting his grandson’s activities, whether it was at a rodeo arena or inside a gymnasium.

Tim married Sherry Roe on February 13, 1971, and had two sons, Jerimy and Chip Craig. After later divorcing, he was fortunate to meet Penny Jackson. Tim and Penny were married on June 9, 2004. Penny brought in four more boys – Delbert, Guy, Clay, and Jade Jackson.

Tim is survived by two sons – Jerimy (Sandi) Craig and Chip (Keri) Craig; four step-sons – Delbert Jackson, Guy (Lois) Jackson, Clay (Nannette) Jackson, and Jade Jackson. His grandchildren, Cody (Allie) Craig, Blake (Sage) Craig, Eric (Gabby) Finley, Josh (Lilly) Finley, Kayd Craig, 2 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Helen Craig, his brother, Bill Craig, and his late wife, Penny Craig.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Demaray Funeral Chapel in Gooding. Following the service, there will be a lunch reception at the Gooding Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Tim’s favorite campaign: The Trump National Committee.
