Walt Arlin Caster, 82, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at his home in Gooding.
Walt “Skip” Caster was born on January 15, 1943 in Shoshone, Idaho, the son of Walter Arlin Caster and Julia Alvira Andrus.
He was raised and educated in Idaho and Oregon.
He served his country serving in the Army and later the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant.
He married JoAnne Brinkerhoff on June 5, 1993 in Jerome, Idaho.
He is survived by: his wife - JoAnne Caster of Gooding; daughters – Carolyn Caster of Seattle, Washington, JoAnna Trefren of Burley, Idaho and Trina Griggs of Gooding, Idaho; son – Tymothy Lynn (Pauline) Trefren of Battleground, Washington; his brother – Arlie Caster of Blackfoot, Idaho; sister – Debbie Caster of Jerome, Idaho; seven grandchildren – Chelsea; Rex (Katee), Karlie, Dylan (Amanda), Taylor, Brittany, and Mariah; and great grandchildren- Abigail, Teghen, Brenden, Zayden, Lily Anna, Tylyn, Augustus, and Abriella.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; mother-in-law – Dona Brinkerhoff; son – Jeffrey; four brother-in-law’s – Ted, Steven, Terry and Brooks Brinkerhoff.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gooding. Services will conclude at the Church.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
