William "Bill" Bozzuto

     William “Bill” Bozzuto passed away on June 10, 2026 in Boise, Idaho. He was 80.

     Bill was born December 2, 1945, in Waterbury, Connecticut the first child to Victor and Rae Bozzuto. In 1960, Vic and Rae relocated Bill and his siblings, Bob, Vicky and Tony to Shoshone, Idaho where Vic would start the family business Bozzuto Furniture.

     Bill attended Shoshone High School where he was active in football, basketball and baseball. It would also be where he met and began dating Renee Oneida. After Bill graduated in 1963, he attended Idaho State University in Pocatello and he and Renee

continued dating until they married in December of 1965. In the summer of 1965, they had their first child, Krisie.

     After graduation from college as a CPA, Bill accepted a position with Arthur Andersen and the small family relocated to Chicago, IL. Rob would be born there in 1969. Bill would later transfer with the company to Portland, OR and Jason would be born there in 1974. Arthur Andersen was very much a large family, and Bill and Renee made many lifetime friends there.

     The urge to move closer to home and family began to tempt them to move back to Idaho and in 1976 Bill accepted a position at Scott USA in Ketchum, ID. Bill would later start his own business with his friend Joe Cooper and Bozzuto & Cooper would eventually become Bozzuto & Associates, PA. He would spend a short time with Smith, Cook & Co., before starting another business, Bozzuto & Anderson & Co PA. He would retire in 2021.

     Bill loved the move to Idaho, fishing, hunting and golf and reconnecting with all his old high school friends. The whole family loved the annual dove feeds and duck soup dinners. He also loved watching his kids grow up there and attending anything that they were involved in. Even after the kids all graduated, he still attended Wood River football games and State wrestling.

     While Bill was extremely hard-working, he was equally generous with his time. Whether it was a phone call from a friend with a question, volunteering for the Days of the Old West queen contest or being a longtime member of Rotary, he was a very vibrant member of the community.

     One of Bill’s favorites was the St. Charles Borromeo annual Basque Dinner, a beloved Hailey tradition. Bill and Renee and friends Dave and Julie Stevens and Tom and Annette Goicoechea would travel to Gooding to pick out the best sheep and then the day of the dinner be at the parish kitchen first thing in the morning to start preparing the traditional lamb, Basque beans, and Spanish rice. Other traditional items such as sourdough, flan and other great desserts were provided by members of the parish.  Later that evening they would serve a large crowd that oftentimes waited clear out the door!

     Later the trio of friends were able to travel to the Basque country and enjoy the culture in person. On the same trip, Bill was also able to travel to Italy and see where his ancestors originally came from.

     The first “grand” light of his life, Jaysa, was born to Jason and Kelly in 2004 and Kenley would follow in 2008. There was nothing he treasured more than spending time with them, whether it was taking them to the office when they were small, taking vacations to Hawaii or attending every dance recital, skating event or hockey and baseball game. He was so proud of all their accomplishments and how they had grown into strong, smart and beautiful young women! He would have been so proud to see Kenley graduate this year if his health would have allowed it.

     Bill is survived by his wife - Renee; his daughter – Krisie; sons - Rob and Jason (Kelly); granddaughters - Jaysa and Kenley; brother - Bob (Linda); sister - Vicky Hranac (Mike); and nieces - Dani Bozzuto, Shelby Berglund (Cam) and Kellie Paul (Ryan).

     A celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to be announced by the family.
