Xandra Janet (Watson) Smith

Xandra J. Smith, 83, a resident of Jerome, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Ashley Manor Assisted Care in Jerome.

Xandra Janet (Watson) Smith, was born on October 15, 1941, in Wendell, Idaho, the daughter of Amos P. and Janet Watson. She was raised and educated in Jerome, Idaho, and graduated in 1959.

She married Boyd Cannaday on December 26, 1955, in Boise, Idaho, and divorced in 1974. She married Ray Smith in 1978.

She is survived by two sons – Clayton and Bill Cannaday; four stepchildren; three brothers – Patrick Watson of Nampa, Idaho, Michael Watson of Washington, Tony Watson of North Dakota; two sisters – Judith Hodges of Washington and Ada Carter of Jerome, Idaho; 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents - Amos and Janet Watson; husband - Ray Smith; son – Christopher Cannaday; three stepchildren; brother- Marc Watson; sister - Susan Shoup; ex-husband - Boyd Cannaday; 

A graveside service will be held in April of 2026, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service - Gooding Chapel.
